"Great selection of kitchen supplies and a unique knife selection. You won’t find these knives in any other store around Madison. Awesome kitchen gadgets. Highly recommend if this is what you are looking for. The knife sharpening is not great. They have expertise in many ways, but they don’t use a guide for sharpening the knife edge at a consistent angle. Because of this, they sharpened my Shun knives unevenly, which makes them dangerous to use. ..."
"WONDERFUL experience. I sent in 4 knives, 1 Wusthof Classic IKON Nakiri, 1 Serbian Butcher Knife made in Vietnam, 1 Zwilling Pro Rocking Santoku and 1 Kikuichi Limited Edition Mirror Damascus Santoku . Needless to say it was a VERY quick turnaround and I will be going back for their knife sharpening services in the future. They are so good in fact, that I cut right through my finger nail like butter (my fault)... Intensely sharp. THANK YOU!!!"
"I had a couple pairs of fabric scissors that needed help. One pair had been neglected since the 1970s and were very dull. The other was a pair of Gingher shears that I had sharpened once through a local hardware store, and I’d not been happy with the results. Both pairs are now nice and sharp and a pleasure to use. At $5 a pair and while-you-wait service, this was a great bargain to get my scissors back in fine order. Edited 5/30/25 to say that..."
"What a fantastic cutlery shop! Michelle is an expert in her field and of her craft. I went in for a few nice knives to make my own processing kit for venison at home and she didn't disappoint. I was so happy with the first couple, I went back for a couple more the following week. Her staff is just as knowledgeable and friendly as well. If you're in the market for some fantastic knives an an education on how to care for them, this is the plac..."

Customer Reviews
"I don't generally post public reviews. I'm writing this because while the current reviews are stellar, I feel that there's more to be said. If you have any interest at all in quality blades, whether as an artisan, chef, historian, tinkerer, or collector, Isaiah's forging classes are a rare experience. There are few smiths crafting hand-forged knives on Isaiah's level globally, and even fewer of those smiths offer classes as readily accessible as..."
"The Forge a Chef Knife class is a unique and amazing knife making experience! Isaiah is great about showing you how to do it, and then letting you loose to do it. If you need help, simply ask for it. I asked for help during many of the steps, and he was happy to jump in and show me again or refine something that I wasn't quite getting right. I'm not a handy person, so don't let that be a barrier to signing up. It was amazing to watch a piece of..."
"I had a great time at the weekend knife making class on Feb 11-12. Three other students and I each made a 6-8 inch long kitchen knife and they all turned out great. Isaiah and Colson (his apprentice/assistant) were exceptionally friendly, clear in their instruction, and eager to help when necessary. The shop is well organized/laid out with everything we needed. It's hard to explain the feeling you get after forging an extremely sharp knife out of..."
"Isaiah's knife-making class is an amazing and highly rewarding experience. From start to finish, he expertly guided us through each step of the process and at the end of the weekend we each had a beautiful and functional chef's knife. I would recommend the class to anyone who's into building or making things by hand or learning cool new skills. He also has a lot of awesome knives for sale that he's made, for those looking for high-end kitchen ..."
